How to Use Listerine Mouthwash?

When it comes to your oral health, there should be no compromise. In addition to brushing and flossing, you should also rinse with a mouthwash twice daily to fight the germs left behind after brushing, for a whole mouth clean.

Let’s get to know Listerine better!

An antiseptic mouthwash product, Listerine is named after Joseph Lister, a pioneer of antiseptic surgery. Listerine was first formulated in 1879 by Joseph Lawrence, a chemist in St Louis, Missouri, and was marketed by the Lambert Pharmacal Company. In December 2006, Johnson & Johnson acquired the company and has been manufacturing and distributing Listerine since.

Listerine uses essential oils to fight germs that cause plaque, gingivitis and bad breath

Did you know that brushing only cleans 25% of your mouth?

Bacteria can colonize many surfaces in your mouth like your teeth, gums, cheeks and tongue. Food particles stuck in hard-to-reach places, like crevices between teeth and the back of the mouth, can cause bacteria to multiply. This can lead to tooth decay, cavities and a range of other dental issues.

Using LISTERINE® mouthwash daily will help you to look after your whole mouth, as it reaches places that your brush cannot, reducing dental plaque and fighting millions of germs for a clean and healthy mouth.

Rinsing with LISTERINE® is simple:

  1. Use LISTERINE® daily mouthwash twice a day after brushing your teeth
  2. Use 20 ml of the solution; this is equal to 3/4 of a capful
  3. Gargle for 30 seconds, and then spit out

LISTERINE® offers a range of mouthwashes to suit countless needs, whether it’s stained teeth, tartar and plaque prevention, or protection against gum disease.
